  1. When did NCCS open its doors?

    The first class entered NCCS in 1984.  Our first student to graduate did so in 1987, and our first full class of graduates was in 1988.

  2. What grades are offered at NCCS?

    Kindergarten - 12thgrade is offered at NCCS.  We offer an Early Kindergarten for four year olds and a regular Kindergarten for five year olds. Children must turn four or five by September 1st.

  3. When will the school year start and end?

    The first day of classes will be Tuesday, September 8, 2009.  The first day of school is a ½ day, with a pot luck social at 6:00 pm.
    The last day of classes will be June 10, 2010 (1/2 day).  Graduation will follow on June 11, 2010.

  4. How long is the school day?

    Normal school days are from 8:30am – 3:00pm.
    Half days will be from 8:30am – Noon. Students are dismissed prior to lunch. Kindergarten meets Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 8:30am – 3:00am.

  5. Does NCCS offer before and after school childcare?

    No.  However, we may be able to assist you with the names of area childcare providers.  Students may be dropped off as early as 8:00am and should be picked up by 3:20pm.

  6. Is NCCS affiliated with any denomination?

    NCCS is non-denominational.  The school exists as a response of faith and obedience on the part of committed Christian parents and members of New Covenant Christian Church; however, school families represent more than 30 area churches of many different denominations.

  7. Does NCCS provide transportation?

    NCCS does not provide transportation to/from school.   For those living in the Waverly school district, busing may be available.  Contact the Waverly Bus Depot for more information.

  8. How large are the class sizes?

    Elementary class limits are as follows:
    Kindergarten and 1st grade – 18
    2nd and 3rd grades – 20
    4th – 6th grades – 22
    The limit in secondary (7th-12th) grades is 24 students per grade.

  9. What sports are available at NCCS?

    NCCS participates in MHSAA Class D sports as part of the Mid-South Conference.  Current sports options are:  soccer and basketball.

  10. Does NCCS have computers available for student use?

    NCCS has a computer lab for student use.  Additionally, all elementary classrooms are computer-equipped for supervised use.

  11. Does NCCS offer scholarships?

    NCCS does not offer scholarships to reduce the cost of tuition.  However, we offer Tuition Reduction Programs for families to use to reduce their tuition.

  12. Do NCCS students take standardized tests?

    Students in grades 1-10 are given the Stanford Achievement Test every other year.  Students take the Michigan Merit Exam and PSAT during their junior year.  Please contact the school principal if you would like to discuss the test results.

  13. Is NCCS affiliated with any professional organizations?

    NCCS is affiliated with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), based in Colorado Springs, CO.

  14. Are parents welcome in the school?

    NCCS parents are a treasured resource, and we welcome your involvement!  Please contact the school office or your child’s teacher to see how you can help.  Of course, parents, grandparents, and friends are always welcome to attend our student-led Chapel each Wednesday at 8:30am.
